Resources for conversation groups
One of the essential aspects of the conversation groups is the use of focus material by which the conversation is stimulated. We spend time at the start of the session being quiet and reflecting on what has brought us to this place and then we introduce material on a theme that will stimulate the conversation. The CCiC project has been influenced from the start by the approach and material produced by Mark Davis of Shoreline Conversations and he led the initial training for the group who now make up our Community of Practice.
Mark has produced a range of written materials whichwe have used extensively in the project and most of the groups we have run have started by using on of his excellent resource packs.
One of the resource packs we have used is called "Glimpsing God", and like a number of Mark's resources there are six booklets full of reflective material on the theme designed to help group participants reflect on their own experience and to be stimulated in their thinking to resource the conversation.
The resources includes written material that introduces the theme, quotations and poetry that illuminate the theme, and stories and scripture that ground us in a shared starting point.
Please do visit the "Shoreline Conversations" website where you can find out more about the work and the resources that have been produced and purchase them for your own group should you so wish to.
